I was born in Oaxaca, Mexico, is a city in central Mexico. I came to the United States when I was 20. After several years of hard work and saving money, I decided that I want to run my own business. However, the business did not turn out as I planned. But I didn’t give up, I kept working and saving more money to give it another shot. This time I began to drive a cab and a year later I bought another one to expand the business.
In the early 2000’s I decided to open the second company for tree services in Houston. But to know this craft better I started as a groundsman by myself. I worked with trees in the day and did some part-time work at night driving the cab. I learned how to file, to maintain the equipment, and finally climb. In 2013 I purchased my first hauling trailer and began to do side jobs. That’s how Valerio’s Tree Service was born. I sold two cabs and used the money to buy a small dump truck. I knew it wouldn’t be easy and that is what kept me going. I was challenged and I loved it. It has been 18 years of sweat, sacrifice and hard work. I look back and see every challenge I encountered and now I can say ‘It has been all worth it’.
